in today's episode what we're going to 0:02 be focusing on is the has H has 0:06 confidence formula that's right about 0:09 having confidence so I'm going to show 0:11 you how to use the has confidence 0:14 formula in building confidence in you in 0:18 your sport so don't go anywhere I'll see 0:20 you very 0:21 [Music] 0:25 shortly hey there welcome to ambition 0:28 habits lovely to see you hi I'm Tiff uh 0:32 really excited to have you here because 0:34 we're going to be talking about the has 0:36 confidence formula so are you finding 0:39 that you are lacking confidence in your 0:42 sport probably because you're here 0:44 listening to me today so what is it do 0:48 you think that's holding you back with 0:50 your confidence in your sport is it the 0:53 poor self talk is it the lack of the 0:58 skills that you have in your sport is it 1:02 the fact that you get nervous when you 1:05 get out there and you play in your sport 1:08 is it that you're when you go and play a 1:11 competition um whether it be a local 1:13 competition you know or even going 1:16 play social socially it uh you find that 1:19 that's holding you back from performing 1:20 well CU you're worrying about letting 1:23 other people down you're worrying about 1:25 how you gain the look when you play um 1:28 what is it that that you feel that's 1:30 holding you back cuz I'll tell you a big 1:33 thing is what I believe that holds 1:36 people back women back in accomplishing 1:39 what they need to in their sport is the 1:41 fact that they just don't believe in 1:43 themselves 1:45 and I understand that totally because I 1:48 was at a point in my life playing sport 1:50 that I never believed in myself so when 1:53 you don't believe in yourself then you 1:56 don't think you're good enough when you 1:58 don't think you're good enough 2:00 then you don't perform very well because 2:03 then you 2:05 think that you can't play sport then you 2:08 think that you're not good enough as at 2:10 those skills then you think that you're 2:13 going to look like a fool then you think 2:17 that what's the point in you going out 2:19 and playing because you're just 2:20 embarrassing yourself right and that 2:23 comes from lack of belief and that's 2:26 really what lack of confidence is 2:28 that you don't have any faith in 2:30 yourself you don't have any trust in 2:33 yourself in what it is that you want to 2:36 be able to do to accomplish your 2:38 sporting goals right so how are we going 2:42 to get past that well obviously the 2:46 things that we need to do is build up 2:48 the belief in you and we also need to 2:51 build up the confidence in you so that 2:53 you're actually out there accomplishing 2:55 what it is that you want to accomplish 2:56 those Ambitions in your sport so what 2:59 we're going to do today is we're going 3:00 to look at the has confidence formula so 3:03 what is it well the has conf has 3:06 confidence formula is hate is habits a 3:11 is attitude and S is skill okay now what 3:16 do I mean by that so the habits that I'm 3:18 really referring to if we look at the 3:20 first one ha is really like the mental 3:22 habits what's going on in here it's the 3:26 um physical habits in the sense of how 3:28 you're looking after your body 3:30 it's the nutritional habits what you're 3:33 actually putting in your body it's also 3:36 the Habit skills in what you're 3:39 doing in your approach to how you're 3:42 performing in your sport so we want to 3:45 be looking at all those habits so that's 3:47 that's number that's number one that we 3:48 need to be looking at with regards to 3:51 the has confidence 3:53 formula so the second one is a a equals 3:57 attitude and it's really what is your 4:00 mental 4:01 attitude that's what I'm going to ask 4:02 you right now what is your mental 4:04 attitude towards the sport that you're 4:05 playing do you think that you're just 4:08 not good enough and you're never going 4:09 to get there do you have confidence 4:12 within and you feel like you are making 4:14 progress do you feel that you're a PL at 4:16 a plateau and something's holding you 4:18 back do you feel nervous about your 4:23 performance do you walk into your 4:25 sporting Arena and go well it'll just be 4:27 pot Lo how I go today um do you step 4:31 into the arena and go yeah I'm feeling 4:34 really good I'm going to play really 4:35 well and I'm going to perform really 4:37 well today and I'm talking about 4:39 socially local competition you know it 4:41 doesn't really matter on the level is 4:44 what is actually going on with you so 4:47 the thing is like with regards to 4:49 that has confidence formula and your 4:52 attitude we want to know what your 4:53 actual attitude is your mental attitude 4:56 is towards you performing in your sport 4:59 you may have also seen that the last 5:02 episode that I recorded on um building 5:05 confidence and I was talking about the 5:07 TFR the thoughts the feelings the 5:11 actions and results so if you haven't 5:12 actually seen that make sure you go and 5:14 have a look and a listen to that because 5:16 that's all based around your attitude on 5:19 what's creating the results of good 5:21 results or what's creating the results 5:23 in not so good results so I want you to 5:26 make sure that you go and listen to that 5:27 because that's where that mental 5:29 attitude 5:30 around the confidence formula is 5:33 going to be formed so I need you to go 5:34 and have a listen to that so the s in 5:38 the has confidence formula is all about 5:40 the skills so all those skills can be 5:44 the actual technical skills of your 5:45 sport can be the mental skills of your 5:47 sport um can be the mental skills in 5:51 life because usually how you operate in 5:53 life is how you're going to operate in 5:54 your sport as well um it can be the 5:58 physical skills in the sense of the 5:59 training and so forth that you do in 6:01 order to um help you uh perform better 6:05 in your sport it is the nutritional 6:09 skills in there also about what your 6:12 nutritional habits are uh to create you 6:16 know really their skills um a system a 6:19 food system in place to help you perform 6:21 better in your sport and just in general 6:23 life it can be the stability skills do 6:26 you have good stability for your for you 6:29 compete in the sport or are you lacking 6:31 in that um do you have good strength 6:34 skills in in competing in your sport um 6:38 do you have good Mobility skills in what 6:41 it is that you're doing in your sport 6:43 because in order for you to really do 6:47 and perform so do the sport perform the 6:50 sport the way that you want to you want 6:52 to make sure that you're taking care of 6:53 all of these areas and I don't want you 6:55 to think oh T oh my God there's so much 6:57 to do no there's not but the thing 7:00 is I just want you to be aware of 7:03 these are might be some of the things 7:04 that are holding you back in in your 7:06 sport is the fact that you may be 7:08 missing particular 7:10 habits um in in uh your confidence 7:15 element of you of you that are holding 7:18 you back you may be also missing 7:20 elements in what's going on with your 7:22 mental attitude and you may be also 7:25 missing skills as well in you creating 7:28 that confidence in your sport so the 7:31 thing is I just want to make you 7:32 aware of like there's some habits 7:35 there's an attitude and there's some 7:36 skills that need to be in place for you 7:38 to perform better and again doesn't 7:40 matter what level you're at you can 7:42 always improve okay so that that's what 7:45 we want to be focusing on the has 7:46 confidence formula so just share a quick 7:48 story with you when I was learning and 7:51 competing in tennis and pursuing a 7:54 professional tennis career and you know 7:56 going through the you know the junior 7:58 development and so forth and 8:01 teenagers and all of that kind of 8:02 thing with tennis very passionate wanted 8:04 to be the best tennis player in the 8:06 world wanted to compete overseas wanted 8:08 to play against the best wanted to be 8:10 the best uh wanted to just make tennis 8:13 my life uh what I wasn't aware of was 8:17 what was actually holding me back that 8:19 lack of confidence and lack of belief so 8:22 I didn't wasn't aware that I needed 8:24 particular habits in place to help me 8:26 accomplish my sporting dreams I didn't 8:29 and I didn't know and I wasn't aware 8:31 that it was my mental attitude that was 8:33 actually holding me back I wasn't aware 8:35 that it was specific skills that were 8:37 actually holding me back in 8:39 accomplishing what it was in my sport so 8:42 I've been on this journey ever since to 8:45 ensure that not only I'm performing 8:48 better in the sports that I pursue now 8:51 and you know long term and um I also 8:55 make sure that those people that I coach 8:57 they've got those um habits attitude the 9:01 good mental attitude and the skills in 9:03 place in order for them to accomplish 9:06 their goals in their sport whatever 9:07 those goals may be so uh the thing is is 9:11 we want to make sure that you're got 9:13 yourself in place of so that you can 9:15 accomplish your has confidence formula 9:18 so you are accomplishing your Ambitions 9:21 for your sport with the right habits so 9:24 we need to make sure those right habits 9:26 are in place so what I make sure that I 9:29 do now is I walk the walk and talk the 9:32 talk so I've had sport part of my life 9:36 my whole life I teach it I live it I 9:39 breathe it I love it I love training I 9:41 love practicing I love pursuing Sports I 9:44 love performing well in sports so that 9:46 I'm making sure that I'm practicing what 9:48 I'm preaching okay so I'm testing a lot 9:52 of things out on me discovering what 9:54 works so that I can show you on how that 9:57 how you can build your confidence
