Day 31 — John 2:23-25 — God Knows Our Hearts Welcome to 2 Minute Disciple — where we slow down with Jesus, one passage at a time.
Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin. Slow Down Jesus is here. He’s sitting in your favorite spot, waiting for you to join Him.
You may have a million things on your mind, but for these few moments, set them aside. Relax. Calm your body. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper in your heart: “Don’t be afraid.”
As you exhale, pray: “God knows my heart.”
Repeat this three times, then sit in silence for a few moments. Read Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in him. 24 But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people. 25 No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart.  (John 2:23–25, NLT) Notice What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a phrase or truth that speaks directly to you?
Hold it in your heart for a moment. Reread Hear the passage again slowly.
Be mindful of what God may be speaking to your heart right now.   Meditate Jesus knows what is in my heart.
That can be a scary thought—because there are things I’d rather keep hidden. But He already knows. While I trust Jesus, He doesn’t place His trust in human nature because He knows our hearts fully.
The good news? He not only knows my heart—He is changing it and shaping it to be like His. Take a few moments to reflect on this truth:
God knows our hearts and changes them. Respond Lord, I open my heart to You. Change it to look more like Yours. Exercise The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits. Habit: Take a Nap
God designed us for both work and rest.
Today, schedule at least ten minutes to close your eyes and rest. Let your body recharge so you can do your best work for the Lord.
