Episode 91 — Luke 6:20–21 — Blessed in Your Need Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast, I’m Nick and it’s an honor to be here with you today.
Today is April 1. Each day, we follow a simple rhythm: Slow Down, Read, Notice, Reread, Meditate, Respond, and Exercise.
Let’s begin. Slow Down Jesus is here. He’s sitting in your favorite spot, waiting for you to join Him.
You may have a million things on your mind, but for these few moments, set them aside. Relax. Calm your body. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in, then slowly release it.
As you inhale, whisper: “Jesus, I bring You my need.”
As you exhale, pray: “Fill me with Your life.” Do this three times, then rest in His presence. Read Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said, “God blesses you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours. God blesses you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied. God blesses you who weep now, for in due time you will laugh.  (Luke 6:20–21, NLT) Notice What stands out to you in this passage?
Is there a phrase or truth that speaks directly to you?
Hold it in your heart for a moment. Reread Picture Jesus looking at His disciples—seeing their sacrifices, hardships, and hopes—and speaking these blessings over them. .   Meditate Luke’s Beatitudes are very concrete: poor, hungry, weeping. Jesus doesn’t ignore the pain; He names it. He also adds a crucial word: “now.” Poor now. Hungry now. Weeping now.
But this “now” is not the final word. Over each hard place He speaks a promise:
– The Kingdom of God is yours.
– You will be satisfied.
– You will laugh. Jesus lives in the tension between present reality and certain future hope.
Take a few moments to reflect on this question:
Where do I feel poor, hungry, or grieving right now—and can I dare to believe Jesus speaks blessing into that very place? Respond Jesus, thank You that You see my real life—my lack, my hunger, my tears.
Help me trust that my “now” is not the end of the story.
Let Your promise of the Kingdom, satisfaction, and joy take root in my heart today. Exercise The rush of life will meet you again when you leave this sacred place—but you can carry this moment into your day by forming new habits. Habit: Sticky Note Scripture
Today, take one phrase from Luke 6:20–21—maybe: “The Kingdom of God is yours,” or “You will be satisfied,” or “You will laugh.” Write it on a sticky note and place it where you’ll see it often—your mirror, computer, dashboard, or fridge. Each time you see it, pause for a brief moment and pray:
“Jesus, let this promise sink deeper into my heart today.” That’s your two minutes with Jesus for today.
Now, take what you’ve heard… and live it.
Until next time, keep slowing down, keep listening, and keep walking with Jesus
