00:00:00:07 - 00:00:23:07 Unknown Your Christmas party is just around the corner and you have a budget of $0. Plus, everything you look up online is telling you to either do something like White Elephant or that whole like wrap somebody with wrapping paper mummy nonsense that we've all been doing since 2019. Here are ten games that just include supplies that you already have on hand to budget saver of a lifetime. 00:00:23:08 - 00:00:54:29 Unknown These are the top ten Christmas games this year. Welcome everyone to the Hybrid Ministry Show. What is up everybody? Welcome to the Hybrid Ministry Show. And I am creating over the next four weeks the Mega Christmas Party Guide. Each episode features a different section of the Christmas season for youth ministries. And today we are talking games. There's probably no greater time per capita than Christmas season for youth ministry Christmas games. 00:00:54:29 - 00:01:20:08 Unknown And first up, we have seven questions Christmas Edition, and this one is brand new and included in my guide for completely free. Simply download it and it is yours. How you play seven questions is you get two people to pair up. It's actually one of our social media adaptations. We use it almost every single. We post almost every single week on our social media. 00:01:20:08 - 00:01:39:27 Unknown But you can play in the room as well. Two people get together and one person is the the guesser and the other person is the answerer of the questions. And the guesser gets seven yes or no questions based on a category given to them. And then they have to either get the question right or they get it wrong. 00:01:39:27 - 00:02:05:05 Unknown And then you switch. And so the answer becomes the guesser, and the guesser becomes the answer. You can use it with contestants. You can use it with a mixer. You can change people up and change their partners as they go. Super simple, super easy. Follow the prompts on screen or check out again. Like I said, the social media adaptation so that you can use it in your ministry, not only in your program, but also online. 00:02:05:07 - 00:02:26:06 Unknown Speaking of online, listen, here's the reality. Like you might not think that you need to do anything with social media. You might not even consider it that important. But here's the good news your students, they do, and they live in that world. Like we just had some students create a bar stool of our student ministry account. It's like a satire account. 00:02:26:06 - 00:02:44:03 Unknown It's like a it's like a spam account, but it gets incredible traction and they have incredibly creative ideas. And so my seasonal social media pack is not done by Gen Z or Gen Alpha, right? But it is done with them in mind. And I will help coach you how to start creating a structure and a framework of content. 00:02:44:04 - 00:03:06:12 Unknown Maybe you're not the content creator. That's fine. Hand it over to a student and watch what they can do when you let their creativity be unleashed. And so I will keep you consistent. I'll keep you when when things get difficult. When your schedule gets busy, my pack will just keep things moving for you, okay? And then you hand it over to a student and you see what they can do. 00:03:06:14 - 00:03:29:28 Unknown Go check it out. It's less than the cost of a cup of coffee per month. Actually, if you get the Patreon Hybrid Hero membership to your $4 per month, you get access to all of my social media packs and we are releasing the one for fall. So go check out the fall seasonal social media pack. Even though this video looks very much like them right in the middle of summer, trust me, it's just Texas. 00:03:29:28 - 00:03:49:02 Unknown Okay, go check it out and back to the rest of the video. The next game idea is called Find the Santa. What you do is on screen. You get a Christmas based image. I guess this have to be Christmas based and you create four quadrants and students just simply playing for corners have to go and find the Santa. 00:03:49:03 - 00:04:08:22 Unknown However, the catch is if they go to the wrong quadrant, not only do they not get a point, but if they happen to go to the quadrant where you've also hidden a lump of coal, well, they lose a point. Play ten rounds. Students with the most points at the end wins. Super basic, super easy. Super simple. No supplies required. 00:04:08:23 - 00:04:31:13 Unknown Speaking of super simple, super basic, super easy and super fun. By the way is Christmas Bingo. We talked about this in our fall guide back to School bingo! This is the same concept just with Christmas, so you get ten categories. We did like entertainment. So think like movies watched shopping. So like think like how many Christmas presents have you bought yet. 00:04:31:13 - 00:04:53:13 Unknown And then also like food. So someone whose favorite food is gingerbread or, you know, favorite latte flavor is peppermint latte. Whatever you flash, I do about ten questions per each of those categories. Flash them on the screen using like a random generator. You can use something Sidekick Pro and put them on the screen, and if students get three from each category, they win bingo. 00:04:53:13 - 00:05:16:04 Unknown All you got to do is print out paper grids three by three and you are off to the races. Or how about this one? I call it the Visual Variance Voyage Christmas Edition. Very simply, it's spot. The difference between two images, get two images, change one thing about it using like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, generative AI, even something like keynote or PowerPoint. 00:05:16:05 - 00:05:34:21 Unknown Just add something to it, bring up contestants, or just have people play live in the room or make it your countdown. That's a great option as well. Five minute countdown. And those are just cycling through. And students can can pay attention and be spot in the difference as the time is counting down on the screen. Idea number five and six are the same. 00:05:34:21 - 00:05:59:22 Unknown They are emoji phraseology. You can do Christmas additions. So Christmas phrases using just emojis. Or of course you can use the Christmas character version. So you're thinking like Ebenezer Scrooge and the Grinch and Macaulay Culkin, or I guess Kevin McCallister would be the Christmas version of Macaulay Culkin. Each of those are great ways to again play. You can use a social media adaptation. 00:05:59:22 - 00:06:16:29 Unknown You can play a game in the room, you can do contestants. You can just do it as a mixer. Speaking of mixers, at the number seven is a game that I've created called Mix and Win. What you do is you find a partner, you answer a question, and then based on your answer, you are either given points or taken away points, or you hold held steady. 00:06:16:29 - 00:06:38:08 Unknown And each round you find a new partner. So ten questions, ten different partners. It promotes that kind of mixer mentality. And it gets people moving, getting them to talk in getting them you know, like getting to know new people in the room and new faces and all that type of stuff who genuinely I'm like, over here, I'm like uploading stuff. 00:06:38:08 - 00:07:01:22 Unknown I'm like getting ready to like wrap this episode up here in post and I forgot rank them. So I'm inserting this into the middle, completely unproduced. Rank them five items on screen. Students have to rank them super simple. Use Sidekick Pro, use the ranking thing. It's amazing. Or do the blind ranking one where they come in individually one by one, so students have to submit a ranking before they know what comes next. 00:07:01:22 - 00:07:21:25 Unknown You guys know how this goes, and if you don't, your students definitely do rank them. Christmas edition. It's amazing. It's super fun. Let's get back to the list before I forgot. Idea number nine is a game called You Are Out. If it's basically like everyone starts standing and then if a fact on the screen is true about you, you sit. 00:07:21:26 - 00:07:40:18 Unknown Play ten until you have the last person standing up. You can bring that last person up to play one of these other contestant based games, or you bring them up and you give them like a prize, or they want something or a gift card or whatever. And then the last one is who or what is on the screen. 00:07:40:19 - 00:08:01:20 Unknown It's basically catchphrase with a Christmas item on the screen and a countdown timer, and the person not looking at the screen is being given clues from people who are looking at the screen, and they're trying to guess what, or who is the thing, or the name, or the category, or the Christmas item that is on the screen before the timer hits zero. 00:08:01:22 - 00:08:26:19 Unknown These are ten games that require almost no supplies from any of you, with the exception, I guess, of the bingo, which requires you to print some stuff, go buy some construction paper and draw out the grids if you don't have a printer. However, if you head to my free guide link down below. The seven questions game is completely free in Hybrid Hero members for only the cost of a cup of coffee. 00:08:26:20 - 00:08:46:23 Unknown $4 per month. Use seven questions on social media. Play a GS play, mix and win.
