There's a lot going on in the hip hop world right now from P Diddy and the latest video that surfaced to Kendrick Lamar and Drake's beef. In this video, Andre provides his perspective on these topics and more while I hang back and provide some commentary here

haven't listened to it. I really don't. I don't rock would drink it like that. I think he's got some good songs out there. I like Hendrix joints. I'm not like a fan. Because that's not like my vibe. Here's why I will say overarching. I think it's pathetic. That black people only get known for entertainment and sports. That's what I think. If I'm being super honest, is like yeah, I don't care. I don't care about Drake and Kendrick. I don't care what beef they got this like Oh, who cares? Like I shouldn't be putting food on my table and paying my bills. I haven't listened to any of the verses. I'm sure they're fire. I think I've heard clips of Dragon like so corny shirt.

I mean, so for me it's like I think it's embarrassing that my culture Mike immunity is only known for sports and entertainment. That's the only time we make the news except for Obama. President Obama. That's it. So did he about to get locked up and do a triple 40 bed as embarrassing. I'm embarrassed for my people, because that's how people are gonna look at black people as you get a little bit of paper, they do some some foul shirt.

I mean, that's nothing new, right in terms of that belief running out there. And it certainly isn't doing anything to change that perception. I just you don't know. But I love it because it's you and it's honest. And I don't know. I don't know that I really had an expectation in terms of what your take was going to be because I know like I had sent you something the other day, you know, cuz I guess Jay Cole was supposed to be part of this beef at one point and then like he was put out Kendrick. That was the lamest, like goofy shirt and it make I say all that to say it made me feel like 10 years ago, I prayed him I really didn't feel no way. Man. Now respect. And I watched you I watched Joe Biden's take on that. And I might not. I personally think like, first of all, there are two parts one. It's, it's this. It's the same, like trope. We're known for sports entertainment. Like, get all the monkeys like entertaining you doing a little jig type of stuff. I'm good with that. So I respect Jay Cole for being like, non good. I don't I don't need to do that. So I'm gonna feed it. Yeah. And then secondly, it's like the what are your problems? Like, legit? What are your problems? Like, you're both very wealthy. This is where you spend your energy. Find something else?

That's that's what I don't get honestly, is this just kind of like, what what is the point of this, like, we're just gonna air a bunch of dirty laundry and see who airs the dirty laundry of the other person more aggressively or better than the other? Like, I just, it seems kind of pointless. Like you could both be successful and just leave each other alone. You don't have to hang out with each other. You don't have to do any more songs together. But I guess you want everybody to know that you don't want anything to do with them.

Andre:
I mean, I'm I mean, if I was younger, the rap if you're I rock with it. 100%. But I think what blows me up is everybody's talking about. Right, right. So I'm talking and I think that's what like kind of made my brain go yo, this is not real. It's not real at all. It's like we're I don't care what these two rich people are mad about with each other. Like I really don't. Like I really don't I don't know their personal lives. i It's not about it's not a NAS versus Jay Z thing for me. Jay Z one. Is it's not Tupac and Biggie. Biggie one. It's not lol and cannabis. In everybody's like, who's cannabis? Exactly? lol one. Lol. I mean, and there's tons of hip hop beats, but at the same time, it's like, wait a minute, like, let me pull back a little bit. Harry Belafonte was an entertainer. But you know what he did? He was out there in the struggle trying to get black people the rights of vote. Yep, I don't see none of these doing anything on that level. But Jays got the NFL. Doing what? Right? Like he's no, no offense to Jay. Like, I'm not

Drake and freaking Kendrick. I don't care. I love them both. You know, I mean, I'm not gonna sit here and be like, Nah, I don't care about black people. I'm saying like, What are y'all doing y'all? Nobody cares. Like at the end of the day, you got everybody interested in that. Get people was interested in real shirt.

Well, and I think what I had heard some other people, you know, kind of talking about it, basically saying that there's nothing that Kendrick if you were a Drake fan, there's nothing Kendrick was gonna say to make you not need a drink. And if you're a Kendrick fan, it's the same thing. Drake's not gonna say anything to me. You're not a Kendrick fan. So in the end, they're really just feeding their own camps with this shirt, right? Like, that's what? It's just that continue. It's the same ducking shirt we see everywhere. We're just like, Oh, do you? This means nothing but watch me throw fake punches at this person over here, right? It's the same shirt we see in politics do

I get on Kennedy Omar's like fanboy list when I heard humble when he broke that one line out and just like went straight through. I was like, Yo, homies dope, right? I wasn't listening to that. I wasn't listened to new rap. I was like, Yo, I respect him for that. But I don't care. I don't I don't ducking care. Kendrick ain't paying my mortgage. drakey Paying my mortgage. I don't I don't want these two brothers to be out here. What I don't like because I'm light skinned. Is a light skinned

So that's the that's the only job I got was like, Yo, why we hate light skinned people again. Back to Diddy, though. You know, he got i'll be sure messed up. That's more like skin hate. So if I'm talking about any of these things, I'm selfish. I'm real on lot of it. But then I go back to the there are things in my community that we got to get beyond man. This is from the heart. Black people, my people I love you. I I'm being for real. Can we stop here on lies? Can people saw my fault? Yo, like, shirt? Right?
